SHOA Alert: Cut lock and chain at the Golden Fawn and Rancheria Gate (Shared via email 11/18/25) UPDATE 12/18/25: AT LEAST ONE INCIDENT WAS PART OF AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Dear Neighbors,
It has come to the attention of the Board that a chain and a lock on the gate at the end of Golden Fawn Drive and Rancheria have been cut. (We do not have exact dates and times; it appears this happened on two separate occasions in the month of November.)
While this may have been done by an authorized party, it may simply have been someone looking for a shorter route. Either way, this has left us with a chain and lock to replace.
If you live on Golden Fawn and have noticed any unexpected activity or traffic at the gate on your security cameras, please reach out to the Board to share any relevant footage or information at: support@shoanews.org
If you are aware of who might be responsible, kindly inform them that the gate is for authorized or emergency use only and SHOA will be installing cameras and additional security measures to help prevent further incidents.
Thank you for your help!

Easement Policy Updates
The Sleepy Hollow Owner Association Board has recently reviewed and updated our documentation regarding member maintenance responsibilities on our road and trail easements. After consulting with legal counsel, we have confirmed that the attached clarification is fully consistent with our current Declarations, Covenants, and Restrictions (DC&Rs). Easement Policy Updates.
Please note: this is not a new policy or amendment to the CC&Rs. It is a clarification of existing responsibilities, intended to help all members better understand their obligations and ensure the continued safety and enjoyment of our shared spaces.
The Board is providing a 28-day member comment period before taking action. We invite you to review the attached clarification and submit any questions, feedback, or comments in writing to support@shoanews.org by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025.
After the comment period closes, the Board will review all input and then vote on whether to formally adopt the clarification at the Board meeting on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued cooperation in helping maintain the beauty and safety of Sleepy Hollow.
10/31/25 Update: The board has tabled this policy for the time being and it has not been voted on. The policy may become part of a much needed re-write to update our DC&Rs
